5 de Mayo Blog Hop

Si necesitan traducir, en la barra verde abajo a la izquierda esta el botoncito! Gracias
Hello everyone and welcome to my blog and to the Cinco de Mayo Blog Hop!!! I am so excited to be hosting this hop!!! I will tell you why... Cinco de Mayo is the celebration  of the Battle of Puebla... I can already see some faces..... "it's not Independence day?!!?" hehe nope!!! It is a date that is very much confused with the biggest celebration in Mexico, Independence Day which is September 16th. The funny thing is, this date (5 de mayo) is not celebrated in Mexico as much!! I have always seen this date  celebrated here in the USA far more than any other place!

Here is an excerpt I got from wikipedia:

Cinco de Mayo (Spanish for "fifth of May") is a holiday held on May 5 that commemorates the Mexican army's unlikely victory over Frenchforces at the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín. It is celebrated primarily in the state of Puebla and in the United States. While Cinco de Mayo sees limited significance in Mexico itself, the date is observed nationwide mostly in the United States as a celebration of Mexican heritage and pride. "Cinco de Mayo is not a Mexican holiday—it is anAmerican Civil War holiday, created spontaneously by Mexicans and Latinos living in California who supported the fragile cause of defending freedom and democracy during the first years of that bloody war between the states." Cinco de Mayo is not Mexico's Independence Day, the most important national patriotic holiday in Mexico.

If you notice, I highlited something in red on the paragraph which shows you exactly what our purpose on this hop is.

Sharing

Hello everyone! I thought I post just a sharing post today!!!
I haven't done that in such a long time!!!

I went to a Monique Griffith class a few weeks ago for a Toy Story 2 page layout.... There is a reason why I had not touched that cart! or any of the Disney carts for that matter!!! I spent 3.5 hours cutting!!!! and that was just cutting because Monique has the most detailed instructions I have ever seen!!!!! Her kit comes with all the papers you need already cut to the size you need for your cuts and all the colors in order!!!

So, I left her class with all my million little pieces and thought I would NEVER get this LO done. Well, I was so surprised when I got a little facebook message from Michelle  of Scrappin with my Bug that we actually live very close to eachother!!! She was going to have a scrap night with other awesome scrapping ladies!!! I immediatly though about that LO that I had not finished!

We had an awesome dinner! It was Mexican themed! I am so happy they got to try my Pozole! and we also had enchiladas, rice and nachos!

Michelle decorated or Tattoed our new E2s!!

Mine is the cute bug inside the heart! LOVE IT!!! thanks Michelle!!!

and here is my LO... though it still needs stickles!!!

NEVER AGAIN!!! I do LOVE it!!! and Monique's classes are fun and very instructive but DISNEY? NEVER AGAIN!!!

and while cropping I got to play with Greeting Farm stamps!!!! Can I say "NEW ADDICTION"?
I LOVE LOVE LOVE them!!!!! I got to stamps a few images that Michelle, Candace and Kim own (Thank You Candace for letting me borrow SU paper) and when I got home I colored a few and created some quick cards!

I still need work on my copic coloring! I will continue practicing!
