Market Street a la Mexicana Series! Week #1

Hello friends! I have a new love!!! I can say it without being afraid!!! I love these new stamps more than my Peachy Keen ones!!! Yes!! It does not mean, in any way, that I don't adore my PKS, but... Angelica, the Peachy Queen's daughter has a new line of stamps and one of the collections is my new favorite!

This is the BFFs collection! My new true love! Ok... I know I am exagerating a little... but, I am a Mexican American and I am a Spanish Literature teacher and well, honestly, there aren't many Latino/bilingual stamps out there... well, any that are as cute as these!

To celebrate Market Street Stamps new bilingual collection, I am doing this series!
I have created cards using these stamps with Mexican Sayings/Dichos Mexicanos. The sayings I will be using are very popular in Mexico and might be also used in other Spanish speaking countries. I hope with this series inspire many others to use other languages they know in their scrapping.
Hey! You might learn some Spanish along the way!! The cards have the sayings/sentiments in Spanish but I will translate them for you!

So, onto my first card!

Saying:

¡Estás como los frijoles, al primer hervor se arrugan!
(You are like beans, at their first boil they shrivel!)

Now, you might be thinking a few things... like: What the heck!! LOL
This card would be appropriate for someone who is afraid of something (new school, new job) and it might be a little cruel... but I love it!!!

You will also learn a little Spanish grammar along the way :) First Spanish grammar lesson:
***when using an exclamation mark in a sentence, you have to put one
upside-down at the beggining of the sentence in Spanish.

I will do this series for at least 6 weeks and at the end I will give away the set of cards to one person who has left a comment on all posts.

Thanks for taking a peek I hope you enjoy them!!!

Before I forget!! If you really like these stamps click HERE to purchase them and if you want a chance to win a set of the BFFs set don't forget to come to the Dia de los Muertos Blog Hop this November 1st and 2nd!!! Look at the line up to the right!!! It will start right here!!!

Hi friends!! So today is reveal day over at Crazy About Cricut!!! She is presenting to you Crazy Crew #2 and I am part of it!!! I am so happy to be part of this design team because it involves including my family in my hobby... ok, ok... my addiction! :)

Playing with Serenade by Flowerdisco and Friends~~~Last Project :(

Hello friends! I really hope you have enjoyed all of our creations with the Serenade cartridge. I know I have! I want to thank Agnes from FlowerDiscosScraphut for organizing this and making this a fun series! I don't think I have ever seen all the images used before from just one cartridge!

My last image was a bird cage.... at first I was stressing because, well... what can u do the just the bird cage?! Well, this past weekend I went to the Scrapbook Expo in Ontario, CA. and I found the CUTEST paper that would go perfect with my last image! My favorite part from this collection is the colors and of course... the brand is one of my favorites... BoBunny.

I used a sketch from Scrapbook & Cards Today that was used in their Project 12. Click HERE to learn what Project 12 is.

What do you think?? I love this paper!!! I still need the journaling on it! Pictures are from a trip to Spain my DH and I took back in 2007.

Now, it's your turn to go see all the projects from the other awesome ladies!

Cooking With Cricut Challenge #3~~~ Halloween!!

Hello my dear followers! Today is another Cooking With Cricut Challenge. We are being sponsored by Regina from the Cutting Cafe'. I was asked to look at her designs and in the spirit of Halloween... I chose the Halloween Bingo set. It is just so cute! I love that it comes in color! and the colors are the cutest, it goes beautifully with the Halloween theme paper from K and Company, which is what I used! Here is just a sample of the set there is a lot more!!! The set has these smaller version of the cards and larger cards that are bigger than 5 x 5. It also comes with a set of sentiments.

I printed out the bingo cards on white paper and the circle letter/words in colors to match the cards. I double matted with black first and then the patterned paper.

So, what do you think? I love them!!!! It is a fun project to do and give to a family!! or maybe your child's teacher!

Need the box's measurements? Here ya go!!!

1~  Box 11x11 cardstock scored at 2in on each side
1~ Lid 8x8 cardstock scored at .5in on each side
You need to cut one side on each corner so that you can  fold it as a flap inside the box.

Gaby Abby Challenges with SEI Week 4~~I WANT CANDY!!!!!

Good morning my dear followers and viewers!!! What a weekend! I am doing my post a little late than normal because I got back from So. Cal late last night! My little sister graduated!!! I am sooo proud of her!!!

So, this morning as soon as my DH left to work... I got working! The theme we have for you this week is

CANDY!!!!

I created a few treat bags and pencil holders. You might ask yourself why pencil holders.... well, I don't know about other states but here in California we are not allowed to give our students candy... and as teachers, we are encouraged to ask our students to bring other things as treats for their classmates. I learned this pencil holder project from Mari from Madebymomo. I am trying to find the exact tutorial but I am having no luck!! I'll keep searching and link that tutorial!

Now, once again I created all this with no Cricut!!! Not because I didn't want to, but because I don't have my Expression!!

If you want to do the treat bags, here are the measurements:

10.5 x 5.25
Score at 4, 4.5, 5 and 9
Mats are 3.75 x 5 and 3.5 x 4.75

I used:
Monsterville Collection from SEI (my favorite!!)
 Scrappy Mom's Stamps
MS Border punch
EK Success border punches
I hope you have fun creating something with candy!!!

I invited Cristina from Crafting With Cristina to create something with candy this week! I just love what she created!!!!! She used the SEI Spooks collection and Scrappy Mom's Stamps.
