Project 12 May

If you don't know what Project 12 click here to find out more about it! I am suppose to wait until the end of the month to journal all the important events for the month, but I felt inspired to create!!! I love Page Map sketches! They are very easy to follow. I used the following for this LO:
1. Basic Grey Cappella Collection
2. Cake Basics Cart
3. Designer Calendar Cart
4. Alphalicious Cart

Another layout for Dalia, my childhood friend.

Dalia is my childhood friend. I found her thru Facebook again after more than 20 years! She hooked me up with some Cricut Carts and to say thank you, I am creating a scrapbook for her. For this LO I used Project 12's May sketch. In case you don't know, Project 12 is monthly, they provide the sketch using Page Maps and you journal what you did each month. Here is what I used for this LO:
1. Basic Grey Green at Heart Collection
2. Cake Basics Cart
3. Alphalicious Cart
4. Basic Grey Chipboard Letters Cappella Collection
My best friend Gaby created a LO for her too. It is AWESOME!

Got Love card and a glitch with Create a Critter

Since last night I got inspired by some exciting news that I still can't tell you, but I will soon! Today I created this card using my new favorite cart Create a Critter. I used my Gypsy to cut all the designs and I used other carts too. The hearts and the fence are from Paper doll, the grass is from Plantin Schoolbook. All paper is Reflections from Michaels, this paper cuts really nice! and it's inexpensive too! Oh, wait except for the bigger heart that is a scrap left from some of my all time favorite paper, Basic Grey. As you can see I used a lot of 3D glue dots. :)
This is the inside of the card. I did notice an imperfection with the Create a Critter when using the Gypsy. When using Layer1 in the shift position you should get the milk part of the bottle with the eyes and smile cut out. This does not happen, all you get is the milk by itself. Since this happpened I drew the eyes and the smile myself. I used unibal white pen for the little dots on the eyes. Hope you enjoy!

Our First Cricut Cake

Gaby, my best friend, and I created our first Cricut Cake! I began the night before with the baking of the cake. I used a traditional cake mix but added sour cream, instant pudding and chocolate chips. I baked three 9-inch round cakes. After they cooled I cut the tops to have a clean straight tops. Gaby came over the next day and we began our decoration!! It was lots of fun!! The cake was for my sister Rina who turned 33 (i don't think she'll mind me saying her age :)).
We did encounter a problem with the Cricut frosting sheets. They did not cut properly when trying to do small details. I ruined the blue and the yellow sheets. But, the Wilton fondant cut very nicely. I bought the regular 5 pound box at Michaels with a 50% off coupon. I used colored powder for the diferent colors. The powders I bought in Mexico, if you live close to the border and or travel to Mexico the brand name is Deiman. As for the black fondant I used Duff's brand. If you don't know who Duff is, well... you need to see his creations, click here to take you directly to his gallery. His fondant is very workable and the black is a pure and rich black. Also, his fondant is tasty. I have done other fondant cakes in the past using only Wilton and my family use to take off the fondant and said it tasted funny. I did not see any Duff's fondant leftovers on the plates! Everyone loved the decorations and said that the cake was VERY good. If you would like the actual cake recipe ask away on this post!
